Each auction house has a particular process to arrange shipment of items. There are many factors taken into consideration to determine the proper shipping method, including weight, value, type of lot and distance it must travel. It is best to review the terms and conditions for the particular Auction House you’re working with before placing a bid, and to contact that house directly.
Each auction house and gallery has their own shipping terms, so the shipping process varies. Some sellers may have an in-house shipper, others may put you in touch with a shipping company they work with, or you may need to arrange shipping with a shipping company near the seller.
If you aren’t sure, we recommend contacting the auction house or gallery directly for clarification. You can also review the invoice you received, as that may include shipping details as well, or shipping terms of the seller.
To review any shipping terms from a sale:
- Hover over the user icon in the upper right of the page.
- Click Purchases to view your won items.
- Click the item you need more information about.
- Scroll down and expand the Payment & Shipping section.
